the geeks guide to screen printing
Screen printing is the gold standard for custom tees and totes — and for good reason! Using real ink pushed through a mesh screen, it creates vibrant, breathable prints that feel great and last the life of the garment.
While the setup takes a bit of love and labour, it’s super cost-effective for bulk orders. Just keep in mind: each colour needs its own screen, so fewer colours = better value. With a clever design, even a single-colour print can look amazing.
We offer up to 4 colours on t-shirts and totes, and even more for paper products. Need a hand getting your artwork print-ready? We’re pretty great at that — get in touch and let’s make something awesome!
Artwork is printed onto a transparent film
Under UV light, the design is burned onto a screen, creating a stencil. Each colour needs its own screen
Once the screen is positioned on the press, a rubber squeegee is used to push the ink through the mesh, leaving behind your design. It’s really quite magical.
If printing onto fabric, the ink is cured with heat, and your t-shirt is ready to wear & wash.
